An Organizational-Based Model and Agent-Based Simulation for Co-Traveling at an Aggregate Level
Summary (EN)
This paper presents the design of an organizational model mapped to an agent-based simulation for co-traveling at an aggregate level. The goal is to limit interactions of autonomous agents and enable communication to trigger the negotiation process within social groups to find matching carpooling partners. The model reduces computational complexity by grouping candidates into geographic zones. The implementation relies on Flanders population data and the FEATHERS model. Results show that the aggregate approach significantly reduces computation time while maintaining good fidelity to individual behaviors. Comparison between aggregated and disaggregated simulations validates the proposed approach.
